Welcome to the world of Bier-Mania!™ Cultural Beer Tours.
The "Ardennes Special"™ Tour has been designed to take in the whole of the Ardennes region and introduce you to the complete spectrum of breweries that exist there, from the 'one-pot' breweries such as Fantôme to the legendary Trappiste monastery of Orval.
We have a selection from around 15 such breweries within this amazingly diverse part of Wallonia in Belgium-a truly action packed 3 days of beer-culture and experiences! Locations are selected from- Grain d'Orge, Val Dieu, Les Trois Fourquerts, Fantôme, Marckloff, Achouffe, Orval, La Rulles, Rochefort and La Saint Monon. Other locations include Bouillon, St Helene, Millervertus and Les Trois Brasseurs.

    Total rate for the 3 days: € 350,- per person (based on a minimum of 6 people).

    This package includes:
    - Pick-up/drop-off TBC.
    - All transport by minibus (3 days) from the pick-up to the drop-off point.
    - Tour leader.
    - Belgium Beer Night.
    - Some brewery fees.
    - Orval entrance fee.
    - 2 nights hotel accommodation.
    - 2 breakfasts.
    - 1 evening meal cooked with beer.
    - Meals. The meals included within the tour are summarised as follows: 1st day : Dinner Achouffe - 2nd day breakfast at hotel - 3rd day : breakfast at the hotel.
    - An unforgettable stay!

    Extra information:

    Not included :
    - Beer & food consumed "outside the tour". Drinks apart from beer are specifically not included. Guests will have a personal tab for any drinks other than beer.
    - Transport "outside the tour" (ie any taxis, trains).
    - Personal liability and insurances such as medical, etc.
    - Single supplements.

    ARTISAN BREWERY SAINTE-HELENE (ETHE)

    The traditional Sainte-Hélène brewery was on 3 May 1999 the first brewery that started it activities in the region of the Gaume. Today it offers 5 products. Their latest beer is "La Grognarde" (named after Napoleon's 'Grognards'). The visits are led by the brewer allowing visitors to witness every stage of the brewing process.

    ABBEY OF ORVAL (VILLERS-DEVANT-ORVAL)

    Founded in 1132, the Notre-Dame of Orval is one of the most remarkable Cistercian abbeys in Belgium. Its spring, secular rose window and its medicinal plant garden are the three main attractions. A museum details the history of the monastery through the reconstruction of old forges, a model of the abbey that was constructed by Laurent Dewez and a pictorial of Brother Abraham, a famous painter in the 18th century. The abbey was rebuilt in 1926 on the foundations of the monastery destroyed during the French Revolution. Today, the Abbey is still home to a community of monks.

    The whole year round, the Achouffe Brewery produces the beers 'La Chouffe' and the 'Mc Chouffe', in wintertime it also produces the 'N'Ice Chouffe'. These beers are brewed with spring water, and are not filtered nor pasteurised. The beers of the Achouffe Brewery are exported to more than fifteen countries.

    In the village of Bellevaux, between Malmedy and Stavelot, you will find one of those special breweries. Its original beers are brewed with the famous Ardennes spring water, in beautiful red copper tuns.
    You can enjoy a beer in the cosy sampling room or on the nice terrace with view on the mash tuns. Our chef will gladly cook some specialties to go with the beer.
    Next to beer, we sell in our brewery shop all sorts of items, such as our special glasses. You will also find a selection of the best products our region has to offer.
